Designed to meet the evolving safety demands of modern motorcycling, the innovative and ultra-lightweight Tech-Air® 5 PLASMA airbag system is engineered to fit seamlessly under the jacket, ensuring an extremely comfortable and adaptable fit. The system's ultra-thin profile provides an "under-the-jacket" feel, offering freedom of movement and advanced protection for an enhanced riding experience.

Based on Alpinestars' industry-leading protective technology, the Tech-Air® 5 PLASMA airbag system is the latest evolution of the Alpinestars Tech-Air® family. Designed for ultra-lightweight performance, superior comfort and an "invisible" fit, the cutting-edge Tech-Air® 5 PLASMA system provides complete upper body coverage, including the chest, ribs, back and shoulders, and features a PLASMA back protector for the optimal combination of comfort, flexibility, airflow and rider protection. Featuring a newly developed algorithm that supports three distinct riding modes: STREET, OFF-ROAD and RACE, the Tech-Air® 5 PLASMA is a single-charge airbag system with a user-replaceable gas canister for continuous protection on every ride.

Featuring an integrated Nucleon PLASMA back protector, PLASMA technology is an eco-friendly, lightweight, and highly shock-absorbent material designed to offer superior flexibility, breathability, and ventilation. The back protector offers excellent levels of adaptability for an optimal balance of shock-absorbing performance, flexibility, and comfort.

Faster inflation and easier maintenance
The all-new single-cylinder design reduces weight, allows for faster airbag inflation, and simplifies maintenance for quick replacement.
Quick release cover for quick inflator replacement
The quick-release cover, secured with a Velcro strap, allows for easy access to the inflator: riders can simply place a finger in the recess and lift the cover to remove it and access the inflator. In countries where individual handling and replacement of the inflator is permitted by local regulations, riders can quickly replace the inflator for continued protection while traveling.

Intuitive modular design
The Tech-Air® 5 PLASMA features a fully modular construction, allowing riders to quickly disassemble the system for maintenance and cleaning. Simply unzip the stretch mesh back panel, unclip the quick-access cover, detach both the back protector and airbag from the vest, and remove the LED display and activation zipper. This intuitive design allows for quick removal of the airbag for cleaning the vest, while also allowing for effortless reassembly of the system. Maintenance of key components, including replacing the inflator, is also quick and hassle-free, ensuring flawless functionality with minimal effort.
Long-lasting battery
It provides up to 30 hours of use, ensuring reliability even for the longest journeys.

Extended sizing for an optimal fit
Available in eight sizes from XS to 4XL, it offers a tailored fit designed to suit a wide range of body types.
The Tech-Air® 5 PLASMA offers three riding modes: STREET, OFF-ROAD, and RACE. After properly powering on the system, the user can easily switch between modes by pressing the integrated button in the LED display for two seconds. A solid green LED will illuminate on the riding mode LED display, indicating the currently active riding mode. Riders can easily scroll through the riding modes until the desired one is selected. The system will emit a brief vibration (1 second) when changing riding modes.
Once closed, the Tech-Air® 5 Plasma automatically activates via a separate internal magnetic sensor, and the LED display on the lower chest not only visually indicates the system's operational status, but also activates a short (1-second) haptic vibration to alert the rider and confirm system activation. The system generates a long (3-second) vibration when off or if the status LED is red.

Optimized airbag design: Anatomically designed to increase the protective envelope. The airbag features strategically placed cutouts that adapt to the rider's body for superior impact protection to the back, spine, ribs, and shoulders, while minimizing material volume.
Minimal use of plastic components: for a low weight-to-performance ratio while maintaining maximum airflow and freedom of movement.
